Hi friends! I’m Jodi, the Owner and Managing Consultant at People Matters, a Human Resources Consulting and Services firm.

My love of people and work stems from a fascination with psychology and a curiosity about what made so many of my friends miserable in their jobs. This drove me to complete both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in human resources and to work in the field for the last 30+ years.

My passion is improving the lives of people through work. As individuals thrive, so do the organizations they work in, their families, and society as a whole. My mission is help build great workplaces that engage employees and drive organizational results. That can’t be done without outstanding people managers.

I’ve spent years studying, implementing, and coaching supervisors on the most effective people management techniques. As a result, I’ve designed a program that is not just based on theory but on practical, actionable strategies that deliver real-world results.

This online program is for any individual who has the responsibility of supervising other people and wants to continually improve their effectiveness. We recommend entire management teams attend so everyone “speaks the same language” and can learn from each other, but the course may also be taken by individuals.

Program Structure and Timeline

This online program is made up of 11 modules. Each module contains 45 minutes – 1 hour 30 minutes of video training, accompanying articles, a facilitated 1-hour group discussion and coaching session, and multiple activities to do on-the-job. The facilitated group discussions are led by our expert Human Resources professionals who will guide discussions and coach participants through specific scenarios.

A Zoom based kick-off meeting will be held a week before the first module opens.

Once the program has started, one module is released every 3 weeks. The first week is for the online training, the second week is the facilitated group discussion beginning,  and the third week is for you to absorb and practice integrating the materials. This pace ensures students have enough time to learn, process, and master the information by applying their new skills in real-world scenarios.

Once the program is completed, participants will have access for as long as it is available.
